Artiscape is an annual retreat that includes a variety of events & more than 60 workshops featuring instructors from all over the country. Artiscape is sponsored by Lisa Ohmer, owner of European Papers, a paper arts and bookbinding shop in Columbus, Ohio.

A Creative Retreat Hosted by
Melissa Becker Designs, Sue Spargo Folk-Art Quilts and Kindred Spirits

Tipp City, Ohio

Plans are set to gather in historic Old Tippecanoe, Tipp City, Ohio. Founded in the 1840's, this small town retains much of its original character and charm, providing visitors with an array of activities from antique shopping to art galleries… a splendid location for our retreat! We invite you to join us in a creative journey celebrating Folk-Art and fellowship.

Our project is a little embellished appliqué quilt executed on a cream wool background with a contrasting main appliqué design. A choice of four color selections for the main appliqué piece is offered. You will be sent the cream background and contrasting main appliqué selection in advance. Your assigned “handwork homework” is to stitch the main appliqué piece to the quilt background prior to the start of the retreat.

Button kits are available for Jan Patek 's Spencer Museum Quilt. Each kit contains 36 handmade buttons – one dozen each of 3 different colors.

Retail price $12.00 per button kit plus shipping & handling.

Kits are also available for Jan's 2007 project – Flags of the American Revolution.

Each kit contains 39 buttons – 26 small stars in the color Milkweed and 13 larger stars in the color Old Flag Blue!
The buttons were designed specifically to compliment and complete the '76, Betsy Ross, & Guillford Courthouse blocks in Jan's quilt.
